Our kennel "Black Pearls of Mainhatten" was founded in 1998.
We chose this name because our hometown is Frankfurt and has the nickname Mainhatten.

In 1997 we acquired our first female Labrador retriever. She was
registered as Destiny Bound Cora , but we later named her Candy .

We knew in a moment, "Once a Lab, always a Lab.

We wish to express our thanks to Candy's breeders, Ernest and Brigitta Kuhn,
for being able to have such a wonderful dog.
We have been breeding dogs since 1998 according to the stringent standards
of the German Labrador-Retriever Club (LCD) as well as the national
organisations for breeders VDH and FCI.

Our primary goal as breeders is to breed healthy and typically even-tempered
Labradors which should be considered as a loved member of the family.
Our dogs are foremost family dogs. They live in the house together with the
rest of our family. Our puppies are born in the living room, and after three
weeks are moved into an appropriately-sized doghouse with ample room
for play. They are fully integrated into our daily family life which is extremely
essential for a positive development of character.

We select potential owners of our dogs critically and are always available to
them for help and advice.

Furthermore, it is very important for us to follow the development of our
puppies after releasing them to their rightful owners.
